Coaching Carousel Predictions.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
Raymundo Akin - Defensive Coordinator - Carolina Panthers
Daniel Benitez - Defensive Coordinator - Tennessee Titans
Ben Villarreal - Offensive Coordinator - Miami Dolphins
William Borden - Offensive Coordinator - Detroit Lions
Christopher Manning - Defensive Coordinator - New Orleans Saints
James Dickens - Offensive Coordinator - Washington Commanders
Frank Chapman - Offensive Coordinator - San Francisco 49ers
Walter Olds - Offensive Coordinator - Los Angeles Rams
Christopher Manning - Defensive Coordinator - Cleveland Browns

As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:

Mary Moore:
Ben Villarreal leaves the Dolphins to become the head coach for the Detroit Lions.

Darren Francis:
I think the Panthers lose Raymundo Akin and I see him heading to Miami Dolphins.

Jim Nox:
The Browns cannot hold on to Christopher Manning. I would like to see him coach the Denver Broncos.

Jeremy Piper:
Christopher Manning is certainly on the move. That means Browns will need a new coordinator. As for where Manning ends up? Well, I think Los Angeles Chargers is a good bet.

Game of the Week: Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville Jaguars

Our Expert Predictions:

Jeremy Piper : Arizona Cardinals
They will break their losing streak with a W this week.

Mary Moore : Arizona Cardinals
For this match up, it is likely that Charbel Dabire - DE is going to wreck havoc for the Cardinals defense. This may be where we see their true colors.

Jim Nox : Jacksonville Jaguars
For this game, the scouts tell me that Josh Rosen - QB is the kind of player you just cannot contain for a whole game. Really this could go either way, but you will never get me to admit it.

Darren Francis : Arizona Cardinals
They are well coached. I am sure head coach Robert Burnham has them prepared for this game. He is running a great offense. He is one of the best defensive minds. He is preparation and gameplanning is great.

QB Joe Burrow (LAR) goes #1 overall!

NEW YORK -- The Los Angeles Rams drafted Joe Burrow #1 overall in the 2029 draft. The 6' 4" QB fits the team's needs perfectly. Said Rams general manager: "It's up to us to develop him and get good players around him."

"The great thing about the game of football is, it's a team game," Burrow said on a conference call. "I'm just going to be one piece of the puzzle."

Rams Make Giant Step for Their Team While Denver Takes another approach !!

LA Rams take a giant step forwards by acquiring the first overall pick and in doing so they net their franchise QB in Joe Burrow and although he's 23 they they will have him under team control for a long time. Mean while the Broncos make a head scratching move by completely trading out of rd one with this trade. Most gms thought a trade would happen but they thought that Denver would trade down not out . This is a bold strategy by Denver for sure as they lose out on a franchise QB in Burrow and while they did net some good pieces headlined by LB Burns most do not think Eason will develop to Burrow Level , Denver also netted CB Oruwariye but hes lacking speed @ 79 so Denver may want to mini camp his speed as if they do and his speed improves he will be a force in the secondary.

Denver also trades their 1st r pick in 2030 and what most think will be a top 5 pick as Denver wont no games last yr for a DT Lawrence and DE Crosby and third . I hope their strategy pays off and they make the playoffs but time will see.

Moore and Nox Mock Draft

Pick 1: Denver Broncos
Larry Moore: Joe Burrow - QB
Not afraid to lead. He plays well with others. He understands there is a reason for each assignment on every play. Liked by coaches and teammates. He does not get fooled by coverages often. Has accuracy to throw receivers open. Has good zip on his throws. Do not be afraid to draft a position of need here. This kid is well worthy of a pick this early. Perfect situation for him, and great fit for the team.

Jim Nox: Joe Burrow - QB
Teammates gravitate toward him, they follow his lead. Coaches love that about him. Football is a team sport, and he knows it. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. A fast learner. Has sufficient accuracy to place the ball where defenders cannot get to it. Has the arm strength to keep defenses on their toes. A player that fits their needs. The promise of a future star. This will be great for the franchise.

Pick 2: Buffalo Bills
Larry Moore: Antoine Winfield Jr. - SS
The guy has gets along with everyone. His love for winning leads him to push himself hard, setting an example for everyone. He has enough speed that you can ask him to do a lot of different things. Coaches like his technique when tackling. Very coachable. They gotta be happy to get this guy. Such a talent and he fits their needs. I would imagine the war room is celebrating when they make this pick.

Jim Nox: Antoine Winfield Jr. - SS
Liked by coaches and teammates. His love for winning leads him to push himself hard, setting an example for everyone. He will struggle to cover faster receivers, but that is not the role he will get with them. Tackles with good technique. Plays with great insticts. With this kid, this is a need pick they will not regret.

Pick 3: Los Angeles Rams
Larry Moore: Chase Young - DE
Once you have forged a bond with this kid, he will stand by you to hell and back. No point in getting to the ball carrier if you cannot take him down. This kid tackles well. That is something teams are looking at. Takes in instructions well. People always say you should not prioritize needs over quality. That is not an issue here, they get to have their cake and eat it too.

Jim Nox: Cody Barton - LB
This kid puts in the work. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. Tackles with good leverage. Rarely lets people go. Really strong for a Linebacker. This is something that teams love. While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. Are there other guys worth picking here? Sure, but none of them fit this well with what they need, and he is a solid talent.

Pick 4: Dallas Cowboys
Larry Moore: Cody Barton - LB
Raised to know the value of hard work. Liked by coaches and teammates. Tackles well. This young man can hold his own in the weight room. And he is strong enough to hold his own on the field as well. Will never become a speed rush specialist, but has sufficient speed to become a prototype Defensive End. It is not often that the talent available fits perfectly with what you need. When it does, it makes for a win-win situation. This young man is going to be put in a position to succeed.

Jim Nox: Wes Martin - G
The kind of leadership he shows makes coaches salivate. Known for showing up early and staying late. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. He blocks in the running game with great leverage and technique. Pass blocking against professional players makes for a difficult transition from college. But the tape indicates he will do well in that regard. A really smart kid. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Pick 5: Jacksonville Jaguars
Larry Moore: Tee Higgins - WR
Known among his teammates as a hard worker. Well liked in the locker room. His college tape shows him catching the ball well. Pretty good straight line speed. Can run the deeper routes in the pros. Great balance. Runs good routes, and that is really something coaches are looking for in kids. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Jim Nox: Chase Young - DE
This guy sticks with his teammates, through thick and thin. Finishes tackles. If you look at his tape again, you can see he reacts quickly on the field. They will be happy to get him, they could use an upgrade at the position, and he certainly fits the bill. A franchise caliber player. Just what they have been looking for.

Pick 6: Washington Commanders
Larry Moore: Wes Martin - G
A leader on the field and in the locker room. Known for showing up early and staying late. Known for being a bit of a joker in the locker room. but in the good way, everyone smiles when asked about him. Excellent in the running game. Displays nice technique when blocking on pass plays. Keeps his balance and buys time for the quarterback. He is sharp, and that makes him very coachable. Nothing to think about here. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.

Jim Nox: Tee Higgins - WR
The guy has his head on straight. Known among his teammates as a bit of a goofball, but never in a bad way. The kind that keeps spirits high even when a season goes south. When you watch him you rarely see him drop the ball. Fast enough to challenge good cornerbacks in man coverage. And enough speed to threaten the deep ball. Makes nice jumpcuts after the catch. Elusive enough to be dangerous on short and intermediate routes. This guy is available. This guy fills a need. They have to take him. It makes so much sense.

Pick 7: Kansas City Chiefs
Larry Moore: Derrick Brown - DT
Every team values leadership, someone to lead by example, this is the guy. This kid is not afraid to work hard. The ultimate team player. Strong enough to not get bullied by offensive linemen. Can collapse the pocket. Tackles with good leverage. Rarely lets people go. He is sharp, and that makes him very coachable. Take the blue-chip player. Do not worry about sexier picks. He fits what you need and the quality is there.

Jim Nox: Derrick Brown - DT
Not afraid to lead. His college coaches talk highly of his work ethic. I want this kid on my team. He understands his role on the field, and how it fits in with what everyone else is doing. While not the strongest kid we have seen, his strength is an asset. It gives him the platform to be a great player. Pretty good tackling fundamentals. That is something coaches love. Plays with intelligence. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.

Pick 8: Indianapolis Colts
Larry Moore: Zach Allen - DE
This kid is not afraid to work hard. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. Nice instincts. Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Jim Nox: Tyree Jackson - QB
Teammates look to him for leadership, and he consistently delivers. He understands defensive schemes. Is accurate enough to make most throws. Throws with purpose and power. They will be happy to get him, they could use an upgrade at the position, and he certainly fits the bill. A franchise caliber player. Just what they have been looking for.

Pick 9: Jacksonville Jaguars
Larry Moore: Zack Baun - LB
A leader on the field and in the locker room. Reliable tackler. Would occasionally flatten offensive linemen in college. Even in the pros, opponents better not try to block him with a Tight End or Running Back. Is speedy enough to stay on the field in passing situations. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.

Jim Nox: Zach Allen - DE
This guy understands what it means to be a pro. Is speedy enough to stay on the field in passing situations. Very coachable. That is an important trait for a guy you want to draft this early. Fits the bill, great quality pick, and fills a soft spot on the roster. They should have no qualms here, run to the podium and get your man.

Pick 10: Philadelphia Eagles
Larry Moore: Logan Wilson - LB
'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. What can I say? The guy loves to win and it shows on the field. A good tackler. Sufficiently strong that bull rushing opponents is not off the table. Gives him more options on the field. Fast enough to get around slower Offensive Tackles. Fill the need with a quality player. Best case scenario here.

Jim Nox: Logan Wilson - LB
'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. This kid never gives up, losing is unacceptable to him. Makes good tackles. Sufficiently strong that bull rushing opponents is not off the table. Gives him more options on the field. Scouts all say his speed is not a problem, he plays way faster than his forty time. Once this kid gets in the building, they will be set at this position for years.

Coaching Carousel Predictions.

The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.

The prime candidates identified by our experts are:
John Clark - Offensive Coordinator - Carolina Panthers
Raymundo Akin - Defensive Coordinator - Carolina Panthers
Daniel Benitez - Defensive Coordinator - Tennessee Titans
James Adams - Offensive Coordinator - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Frank Chapman - Offensive Coordinator - San Francisco 49ers
Walter Olds - Offensive Coordinator - Los Angeles Rams
Christopher Manning - Defensive Coordinator - Cleveland Browns
Thomas Dortch - Offensive Coordinator - Cleveland Browns
Ricardo Schindler - Offensive Coordinator - Pittsburgh Steelers
Richard White - Defensive Coordinator - Miami Dolphins

As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:

Mary Moore:
Christopher Manning leaves the Browns to become the head coach for the Los Angeles Rams.

Darren Francis:
I think the Panthers lose Raymundo Akin and I see him heading to Detroit Lions.

Jim Nox:
The Browns cannot hold on to Christopher Manning. I would like to see him coach the Los Angeles Rams.

Jeremy Piper:
Christopher Manning is certainly on the move. That means Browns will need a new coordinator. As for where Manning ends up? Well, I think Detroit Lions is a good bet.
